Fun night!
This is now my 4th time seeing this show. I enjoyed it. This is my first time seeing the "newer routine" and it was satisfactory. Some points where the awkward silence moments could use some rework, such as when they use a man and woman from the crowd. I feel that its forced nervous laughter you get from certain parts in that bit, but overall it is actially quite funny.
I found it absolutely hysterical bringing the person from the crowd to assist with the spherical xylophones and dressing him as a rocker while blowing the wind thru his hair. 100% keep that bit forever!!
The Captain crunch bit needs better choreography in my opinion. I sat close so I could see when they were actually chewing and when the sound was made. However the sound that the theatre provides was good, as it always has been. The blue men performers and upstairs band are excellent musicians and I really enjoyed all of the instrumental parts, so bravo there, you had me tapping along to get beats!
Allowing the crowd to take selfies mid show was genious and so true to how a rock concert goes. Great work there!
However, I was a bit disappointed that the finale has changed. A bit anticlimactic i feel, I miss the "All aboard all aboard ohh ohh" song like you wouldnt believe and why no more toilet paper over the crowd!? Covid I guessed, but come on!! Id give a 4.5 star if I could and a 5 if you had just used that song at the end!! Otherwise, excellent show. I plan on bringing my 9, and two 5 year olds to see it for their first time very soon!
